Thank Goodness I survived 2020!
I have great hope for 2021, and I feel the caretakers of the earth have returned to the places of power.
My respect, thanks, and admiration goes out to all of the folks who worked during this pandemic of 2020, who risked everything day to day for the rest of us. Thank you for the scientists who have done their best to give us knowledge and ammunition against the Sars2 virus which causes Covid19. There has been much unrest in our country, stemming a feeling of lack of justice and accountability from many viewpoints. I hope that people are aware of the issues, and no longer turn their heads to ignore it. Thank you to those who have given up comforts to share these issues with the rest of the world.
To be honest, wearing a mask over my mouth and nose in public doesn't bother me if it is to minimize risk to others. Also, the hermit life has not bothered me too much, as I already work remotely from home, have plenty of places to order takeout, plenty of books to read, a good internet connection, a safe home in the country, and a loving spouse and children. My heart is saddened for anyone who has really struggled just to make it to 2021, who has experienced loneliness, hunger, financial or housing instability, and doubt, and I hope that whatever situation you are in, that it only gets better.
I hope that by this fall it will be worth adventuring again in crowds, and that we all have the armor and defenses to do so safely.
Also, the benefit of staying home New Years Eve, was to wake up safely to a beautiful ice covered backdrop, where I could play with my shawl and costumes, camera, and photo editing software.
I finally received the Shovava shawl I ordered this Thanksgiving, and I am pleased with the environmentally friendly packaging. I also ordered a mandolin this year, and plan to learn how to play at least 3 songs before 2022, rather than just strum it like a toddler.
